Seriously, I've been writing.

Just not the next chapter -- more like portions of the final five chapters, and some sequences in between that I really like.

I mean, I don't want to oversell my stuff. I've got my own criticisms of aspects of the story, and the fact that I like where it goes doesn't necessarily mean that you will.

Anyway, as of now, the too-long-awaited Chapter 20 still has about 5,000 words down, which is long, but I have more to write before it all ties together. Time should free up after this weekend, so I'll have no excuse. By the time it goes live, we'll probably all be disappointed and mildly frustrated that it took so long for that, and it will seem a little anticlimactic. Thanks for your comments and e-mails and sticking around. And if Chapter 20 does, in fact, seem anticlimactic, further down the road we're going to have fireworks and special effects and we're all going to go kind of crazy, I think.

  1. Happy to hear you are writing again! Love the story and regularly check for updates.
I always wanted to ask, how much of a true story is it? It seems very life-like and real and that's what I like most about it.

ps. I hope Chris is in the endgame. I want to give the guy a virtual hug :D

  2. Chris is a psycho. Andy has his shit together and is all kinds of adorable - I'd like to see Joe end up with him... but only once Joe's head gets e'sploded from his inevitably messy "outing" and he grows up a little. ;-)

  3. I don't want to bug you but do you have any updates on when the next chapter will be posted? I can't wait to read more :)

  4. I want to say that it'll be done within two weeks.

I've thought that since I posted Chapter 19.

I'm not promising that it's anything awesome, but I do have some damn fine phrases, I think.

  5. So I read Joe College and I think I enjoyed so much because it's so current and real. It doesn't sound like a cheesy porn story, but instead very similar to so many peoples real life coming out stories. Just read "what's up dude" and again well written and incredibly believable. So thanks, for writing about things the way they actually happen.

  7. Just curious, how many more chapters do you think there'll be?

  8. Fifteen is my best guess. I've got seven of them outlined and/or partially written. It could be as many as twenty or as few as twelve. By the time it's done, we'll all be in our fifties.
