  1. Wow, great chapter! I dunno how I keep commenting first. Doesn't everybody have you on their news feed? ;-P You describe situations vividly, you make them seem familiar. Thank you for writing.

  2. Ha, the Italians are racist, the Germans are kinky and Scandinavia is boring: Stereotypical much? As a Scandinavian I can assure you that Scandinavia is a rather...well...boring place..Okay, you're right ;)
Love your style of writing, your sense of humour, and intelligence.
For a moment I thought this chapter was going to turn into a typical kinky Nifty group sex-fisting-watersports-scat-whatnot-kind of story. I'm quite happy it didn't, though (or maybe that's been saved for next chapter?)

  3. Haha, no. That kind of kink definitely is not my thing.

  4. I saw Kit-Kat and all I could think of was Cabaret. Which is probably fitting.

Fantastic chapter, came out of the blue but I love following Andy with Joe's commentary.

  5. OMG! This chapter is better than the last one, at least to me it is. While I want to know what happens in Joe's life I really love Andy, so this is fine. If you ever going to do a spin off story/series, you should definitely do it in Andy's point of view. Can't wait till the next. Thanks.

PS: Have you read Rules of Attraction by Bret Ellis by any chance?

PPS: Yay at you mentioning Sri Lanka!

    1. Chapter 23 is about Joe's life: it underlies the "Rosalita" section of Chapter 22 and the change in Joe's reaction from manipulating Chris to responding, "You know I love you, too."

  6. I just read the whole thing from beginning to end over the past two days and I'm seriously hooked on this story. I remember seeing it from time to time on Nifty over the past few years but I never really took the time to read it until just now. And, honestly, as sad as it is for there to be long waits between chapters, it shows that you care more about telling the story properly than churning out chapters regardless of quality. The effort you put into writing this shows completely. I've cried over this story at least three times now.

  7. I think that in the next chapter, all of the characters are going to get their own direwolves.

Not really, but goddamn, that's good stuff.

  8. Also, on Rules of Attraction -- I've skimmed it but it didn't connect. Brett Easton Ellis's characters have nasty streaks that make them feel distant to me. That was a few years ago though; maybe I should give it another look.

  9. The movie is worth watching, if only for Ian Somerhalder dancing on his bed in his underwear to Prince's "Faith."

  10. JPM is a GoT fan! This is a great victory. Joe should name his direwolf Freewheelin.

  12. I just finished re-reading the entire series to date. JPM, you are an extremely talented author. I can't remember the last time where I cared so much about the characters in a story. Of couse, I'm now also in an extremely frustrated place - I want to know *RIGHT NOW* what happens next. All in good time, I know...

As others have commented before me, you've basically ruined (not that I'm complaining, really) the run-of-the-mill gay stories for me. But, could you please see if you can pinch/poke/prod your muse for us so that I (and others) don't end up dying from anticipation?

  13. Well said, Anon @ 2:47. JPM is the only author - apart from those who are truly world-renowned - whose lines I find myself recalling out of the blue.

"...his mouth tasted the way a cold glass of water tastes on a hot day, just smooth
and clean and all kinds of good."

    Sigh...

  14. Wow, thanks guys. This is kind of lighting a fire under me. Can't tell you how much it means to be appreciated like this.

  15. I've been reading this story for probably 9 years now, and I just decided to reread it and was amused to read about Andy's adventures in Berlin. I've lived in three different countries while following this story, but I moved to Berlin in 2015, so now it's funny how I read this chapter so differently :) your descriptions are accurate enough to tell me you or someone you know has been here.

It's a shame, I never made it to KitKat and now I never will. It was already announcing it would close, then covid hit. But I feel like you've captured well every story I've ever heard of it.

    1. Oh no! It sucks that KitKat closed for good! Yes, I've been there, and struggle to capture its mix of raunch, innocence and hilarity.
